The functions of the Department are to provide opportunities for wholesome year-round public recreation service for each age group and to develop and maintain in an attractive and safe manner the parks and recreation areas and facilities of the city, and to insure that the facilities are suitable for a wide variety of recreation purposes.

Parks and Recreation Commission

> Parks and Recreation Commission Meetings

Parks and Recreation Commission meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month beginning at 7:00 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

The Parks and Recreation Commission is a seven panel advisory board appointed by City Council. The Commission is comprised of the citizens of Red Bluff and act in the capacity to advise rules and regulation and all matters pertaining to parks and public recreation and if needed for approval by City Council.

The Commissioners recommend the adoption of standards on organization, personnel, areas & facilities, programs & financial support. Also the members of Commission work closely with the Parks and Recreation Director in the preparation of the annual budget and the long-range recreational capital improvement program.
